From Sciacca to Notting Hill

I went to the Notting Hill Carnival in London and here is my comment.
Costumes are more colourful and interesting here compared with the one you can see in Sciacca, Sicily.
Atmosphere in Notting Hill is fake, Caribbean people only seem to be involved in the carnival.
I have really appreciated the sound systems in the area: they are sort of discoes with djs who choice the best of reggae, soca, jazz, soul, hip-hop, funk and so on. People gather around to dance. They are around 50 and are located not far from the procession route.
Another difference with the most established event in Sciacca is the procession of Orchestras on open-air lorries.

Summer is over

The best English summer ever is now over. With temperatures ranging between 13 at night and 24 at daytime you never know what to wear on. The sky is anyway the trickiest thing in the weather issue. Is going to pouring down or today we will get some nice sunny spells? The weather forecast TV programmes cannot help. There are so crap! They never guessed the weather situation! Even BBC!
